Your photos stay yours.

Fondly Told is in private preview. This page says what happens to your photos today. A full policy and terms will be published before we take paid print orders.

What we receive

• Image files from your own Instagram account, sent by your AI assistant after you approve it.
• Optionally, and only if you say yes: the date and time of each photo, whether it was a post or a Story, the captions you wrote on them, your profile bio and a few more of your own captions. We use these to put your words and timestamps in the book.
• Who the book is for and what the occasion is, if you tell your AI assistant or us: a first name and a few words, used for the cover, the note on the first page and the tone of the book. It is stored with your photos and deleted with them.
• Nothing else. If an AI assistant sends comments, messages, other names or locations, we discard them.

What we do with it

• We make your proof, and your book if you order one.
• We do not run face recognition.
• We do not use your photos to train anything, and neither may anyone who helps us make your book. We do not sell your photos or your words, and we share them only with the services named below, only to make your book.

Who helps us make it

• Reading and writing. Your photos are read, and the words in your book are written and checked, by AI models from Google (Gemini, through Google Cloud) and Anthropic (Claude). We use each under paid business terms that forbid training on your content. Both process it in the United States. They may keep a copy for a short time to detect abuse, then delete it; if one is unavailable, the other steps in.
• Printing. When you order, your finished book file and your shipping address go to a professional print partner in the United States, which prints and ships it. It receives nothing else.
• Hosting. Your photos and book are stored on Cloudflare, in the United States, and never on a public address. Every link to a photo or a file is private and expires.
• Email. Order emails are sent through Resend. Links in our emails are tracked, which means we can see when one is clicked. We do not track opens.
• Measuring. We count steps (an upload, a proof, an order) with PostHog, from our own servers. Those counts carry no names, photos or words from your book.

How long we hold it

• A book you have not ordered, with its photos and any text sent with them, is deleted 7 days after you last changed it.
• Photos you leave out of the book are deleted when you order.
• When you order, we keep the book's files for 60 days after it is delivered, in case it needs reprinting. Then we delete them. Order records (what you bought, the amount, the shipping address and your email) stay for accounts and disputes.

Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see your card number.
